Winning multiple awards and created by internationally renowned designers, these stylish, contemporary pieces will be a hot talking point for any visitors throughout the upcoming year, while also easily fitting into any modern space.

Reducing well-known forms into their simplest expression, Tempo is an award-winning collection that uses initiative LED technology to create an elegant, sophisticated effect.

Selected as winner of the 2018 Archiproducts Design Awards (ADA) for outstanding design in lighting, Tempo was inspired by lighting archetypes seen throughout history.  Designed by Barcelona-based studio Lievore Altherr, who was influenced by different culture and regions across the globe, Tempo is entirely simplistic, yet chic. Available in three designs in two sizes (all with their distinct look and feel), Vibia has created a collection entirely transferable to any modern day setting.

Duo is a versatile collection, combining a natural wood finish with a technological twist, to create a re-imagined design trend.

Duo is available in 5 different styles, as well as multiple colour options, making it ideal for a range of interior designs. Lovingly crafted by Ramos and Bassols, these dome shaped ceiling lights combines the organic warm appearance of wood with the technological refinement of metal. This results in a traditional – yet fashionable effect- and with so many options to choose from, Duo really can do it all!

Making a minimalistic statement, the Structural collection is an architectural eye-catching piece that is highly flexible to fit-in areas light would not normally occur.

Inspired by ancient primate architecture (such as caves), Arik Levy has created the Structural collection. Combining both indirect and direct LED light through cubic volumes that form sculptures integrated into the architecture of each space, this collection can be easily introduced into any space. And will be a hot talking point for guests as well.  Encased in a spare aluminium box and paired with thin metal rods that both reinforce and divide the geometric forms, it creates the appearance of points of light linked in space.Available for either a ceiling or a wall – and with multiple design to pick from – Structural has something for anyone. This highly versatile piece can be easily welcomed into either a historical or contemporary building.

Lee Broom

The latest releases from Lee Broom

It’s that time of year again for the annual pilgrimage to the Milan Salone Del Mobile to see the latest in Lighting and Furniture design.

David Village Lighting always visits the show to ensure we have the best products available for our customers to choose from.

It’s an extremely busy and hot occasion, along with many showroom events in the city, and this year seemed the busiest to date.

It was great to see so many people interested in well designed products.

Lee Broom is one of the up and coming brands which we feel is both exciting and current so it is with pleasure that we present two of their new collections launched in Milan, which are now available from David Village Lighting.

The new collections are inspired by vertical and horizontal spaces, spherical forms and the refraction and reflection of light.

Lee Broom

The Eclipse range includes a pendant, a chandelier, a table lamp and a surface light.

The simple design features a mirror-polished chrome disc and an acrylic disc which interact creating a mirroring illusion. The Eclipse range works well when placed on its own or featured together.

Lee Broom

The Orion range includes two pendant styles; one with the LED inside the tube and one with the LED inside the Globe. These connect and expand horizontally and vertically to create bespoke features, perfect for creating a statement.

Foscarini

New finishes to the Foscarini collections

Tuareg

Foscarini

The existing Tuareg floor collection designed in 2013 now includes a matt white finish. Based on the architecture of archaic cultures, the Tuareg is a lamp with a powerful image like a work of land art in an interior landscape.

The structure is composed of aluminium tubing which creates a vivid and dynamic three dimensional form. The new matt white finish joins the original matt orange and glossy black.

Le Soleil

Foscarini

A sphere composed of irregular bands, the Le Soleil pendant is large in size but visually light. When on, thanks to the bands, the light flows outward like sunbeams glimpsing through a cloud.

The Le soleil is now available with an integrated LED which creates a decorative and illuminating effect at the same time as a beam of light being projected downwards.

The Le Soleil is now available in an original copper and bronze finish that brings a new personality, enhancing the warm, natural glow of the lamp.

Spokes

Foscarini

The Spokes lamp is based on an observation of the spokes of a bicycle wheel, generating an object of great iconic force. Today the Spokes range now includes metallised finishes making the spokes seem even more slender and precious. The collection is now available in an elegant graphite and a warm copper tone which transform the presence of Spokes and opens up a world of decor possibilities.

Light Years

Product focus – Light Years Caravaggio Collection

The Iconic Caravaggio range by Light Years first began in 2005 with the release of the high gloss lacquer pendant. The Caravaggio collection is by Danish designer Cecilie Manz who studied at the Danish School of Design.

Light Years

Manz wanted to create a light which had a recognisable shape and a modern expression. The simple pendant design consist of a metal shade, a chrome plated suspension and a textile cable adding the finishing touch. The Caravaggio pendant casts out a downwards light, illuminating both the suspension and the cable through the hole at the top of the light.

Light Years

Later in 2008 Light Years released the Caravaggio floor, table and Opal versions. The Opal series combines the original award winning design with a diffused ambient light from its hand-blown opal glass shade.

The Caravaggio table and floor again has kept the same characteristics from the pendant but include a flexible tube which is hidden by the shade enabling it to tilt up to 40 degrees.

Light Years

In 2011 the family welcomed a Matt lacquer finish. The metal shade remains with the chrome plated details and the textile cable.

The classic collection compliments any room in the home with the pendants being perfection for over a kitchen island.

&Tradition

Featured – New Opal Glass Copenhagen pendant

Designed in 2014 by Space Copenhagen the Copenhagen pendant has a striking design which creates a soft, cosy atmosphere. The Copenhagen pendant is one of &tradition’s most popular designs and this year they have released a new finish to the collection – opal glass.

&Tradition

The soft matt opal glass is combined with darkened brass enhancing the sculptural qualities of the shade and its beautiful poetic manner.  The semi-transparent shade gives out a soft ambient light which can suit any room in the home.

&Tradition

Pete Rbungaard Rützou, member of the Space Copenhagen design duo commented “We live in a part of the world where we have long periods with very little light, so it’s in our bones to seek, create and appreciate warm light that glows.”

The opal glass finish is available in both the small (SC6) and medium (SC7) versions. Whether placed alone or in a cluster with white, black or lacquered pastels of the Copenhagen collection the pendant creates a stunning modern statement.

Moooi

Featured – Moooi Random

Moooi introduced the Random Collection designed by Bertjan Pot in 2002 and it has been a best seller since the beginning.

The lamp gives a beautiful feeling of simplicity with its soft, light and clean contemporary feel.

Moooi

The production process involves resin drained yarn which is randomly coiled around an inflatable beach ball creating a translucent 3D fabric. The beach ball is then deflated and removed via the round opening creating the end result of a soft, magic shade.

The Random comes in 3 pendant sizes and a floor version which are available in black or white and with either a halogen light source or with an integrated LED.

New in time for spring!

10 April 2015 Permalink

A trend which never fails to impress is Metallic details, added to an interior they create an element of luxury or as a statement piece within a space. Tom Dixon is well known for his metal themed designs and does not disappoint with the new Melt collection released this month – just in time for the Milan Euroluce exhibition!

Tom Dixon Melt pendant copper chrome gold

Tom Dixon Melt pendant on and off

Tom Dixon Melt pendants are available in full and mini sizes, chrome, copper and gold which are popular colours from Tom Dixon.

The unique feature of these pendants is their transformation when lit. Turned off the pendants resemble their iconic Copper shade and Bronze shade with a ‘melted’ appearance to the form. However when the Melt is lit they resemble molten metal, the copper and gold finishes take on a warm and fiery look, the chrome similar to silver being melted for jewellery. This new collection is perfect for someone wanting to update their interiors for the metallic trend.

Bocci 14 Series

3 October 2014 Permalink

The 14 series, was designed for Bocci by Omer Arbel. The 14 series challenges traditional chandelier design. Instead of a central sculptural object, the 14 series is an ambient chandelier, achieving its power through composition and clustering. Each glass pendant is handmade. When lit the small imperfections and bubbles in the glass produce a glow reminiscent of small candles floating within spheres of water.
The 14 series offers flexibility in both design and scale, starting from a single pendant and continuing through to 36 pendant chandeliers in a range of canopy shapes and sizes.

Gubi Ronde Pendant

3 February 2014 Permalink

The Ronde Pendant is designer Oliver Schick's first creation for Gubi. The bell-shaped piece is a modern interpretation of the traditional pendant lamp. Schick says that his aim is “to design products with character that are timeless and easy to comprehend." The Ronde’s unique detail is the overhanging collar around the top of the pendant, which is reminiscent of a vase or an amphora. The hand-turned aluminium lamp shade has an ultra-matt lacquer which makes it look as if it is made of ceramics. With its simple yet lively expression the Ronde pendant has all the potential to become a future design classic.
