Artemide Scopas LED Suspension

30 January 2014 Permalink

The stunning new Scopas LED suspension light has been designed for Artemide by award winning designer Neil Poulton. The incomplete spherical structure of the Scopas means that its appearance changes depending on the angle it is viewed from. The Scopas breaks the mould of traditional symmetrical design, and its apparent incompleteness is contrasted with its technical efficiency.

Flos Arco LED

28 January 2014 Permalink

The Arco floor light is arguably the most iconic design that Flos have ever produced. Designed by Achille Castiglioni & Pier Giacomo in 1962, its clean simple lines have made the Arco a design classic. In 2013 Flos launched a new version on the Arco which would utilise the latest LED technology. The Arco regains its classic design but now also benefits from LEDs which allow the design to produce the same quality of light whilst being far more energy efficient.

Foscarini have been established for over 30 years. Their classic designs, such as the Caboche pendant, Lumiere table lamp, and Twiggy floor light, are instantly recognisable. This year they have launched new LED versions of some of their most popular designs. The four icons of the Foscarini collection, the Twiggy, Tress, Big Bang, and Caboche have been totally redesigned. The LED versions of these classic lights retain the warm and emotion of the halogen versions whilst benefiting from an excellent consumption/efficiency ratio for lower energy consumption.

Introducing The Fabbian Cloudy!

27 January 2014 Permalink

We love the unusual shape of the Cloudy, which has been created for Fabbian by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur. When switched on, Cloudy reveals its luminosity and evokes sunlight after the rain, a positive sign of hope and optimism. The Cloudy features gradient white blown glass and is lit by high-power LED lamps.

Mathieu Lehanneur graduated from the French National School of Industrial Design in 2001. His work explores interaction between the body and the environment, living systems and the scientific world. Lehanneur’s simple designs make reference more to natural history than to the history of design. He explores natural and technical possibilities which enable him to produce objects that are functional yet, at the same time, have a touch of magic.
