3daysofdesign is Denmark’s annual design festival. For three days, showrooms and
exhibitions all over Copenhagen offer visitors the opportunity to meet with
brands, experience product launches, and attend design talks. This year we met
with a range of brands, including Muuto, &Tradition, Tom Dixon, Vibia, Le
Klint, and New Works to catch up on all the latest industry updates.
Muuto
Our visit to Muuto allowed us to view some of their upcoming
products, including the spectacular Contra Floor Lamp. Through clever use of
weight distribution, designer Jamie Wolfond has created a large, sculptural
lamp that can easily be adjusted. The cement base holds a curved, slender
frame, ensuring stability while maintaining visual lightness. The impressive
scale and intuitive motion make the Contra a striking statement piece that
demands interaction.
We also viewed the new multi-canopies, an exciting
opportunity for those who wish to create unique clusters of pendants. Available
with 7 or 19 holes, these canopies offer more creative possibilities for
pendant installations, allowing multiple pieces to be displayed at varying
heights for captivating compositions in both residential and commercial
interiors.
An upcoming Blue Grey colourway for the Under the Bell
breathes fresh life into an already familiar design, introducing a soft note of
colour without losing the understated character that has made the piece so
popular.

&Tradition unveiled an impressive number of new releases
and new editions of existing collections.
The Numbra Collection, created by Japanese designer Teruhiro
Yanagihara, draws inspiration from Japanese wooden architectural elements. Oak
slats create a play of light, marking the moment where line, light, and shadow
meet. The Numba Collection creates an ambient glow that evokes feelings of
serenity.
The Gio Collection has seen the expressive pendant
reimagined as a floor lamp, anchored by an Emperador marble base. Inspired by
the work of Italian designer Gio Ponti, the Gio Floor Lamp is a contemporary
take on traditional Venetian glass craftsmanship. The marble base complements
the spun aluminium shade, enhancing the lamp’s materiality while providing a
sturdy foundation.
A display of the latest Flowerpot finishes celebrated the
iconic designer Verner Panton. Shades of Zesty Orange, Steel Blue, and Ivory
added a splash of colour to the surroundings while capturing the spirit of the
70s, when the collection was first launched. Launched in 2026, the vibrant
colour palette was introduced to mark the 100th anniversary of Verner Panton’s
birth.
&Tradition also debuted a new Flowerpot Anniversary
Edition. The new Pewter finish contrasts with the Flowerpot’s usual smooth and
glossy appearance. This new version offers a more textured finish that gives
the luminaire a more raw, industrial appearance.
A Flowerpot Pendant, exclusive to 3DD, celebrates Verner
Panton’s design process and the fearless collaborations undertaken that pushed
design to the next level.
The new Bella Suspension created a sense of warmth and a
cosy ambience to the exhibition. Inspired by four-leaf clovers, the suspension
is comprised of four vertical columns. The textile shade diffuses light into a
gentle glow, adding softness to the room for a calming atmosphere.

The Bell Portable was on display in a new Burgundy finish.
The high-gloss finish adds a distinctive character and a touch of
sophistication to the interior.
The Jack Portable Lamp was displayed throughout Tom Dixon’s
exhibition. Reimagined from the original 1996 Jack Light, the multi-purpose
design added a sculptural presence to the space while capturing the imagination
of those around it. Durable and lightweight, the Jack can be stacked, easily
transported for indoor and outdoor use, and can even be sat on.
The New Flare Pendants mark a material evolution for Tom
Dixon as the first collection made from borosilicate glass. Inspired by the
movement of water, the two pendants, Bead and Top, echo the delicate appearance
of droplets. Displayed in clusters at varying heights, they showed how
expressive the collection can become in installation, particularly through the
contrast between the softly diffused Opal finish and the more reflective Silver
version.

The Louis Poulsen exhibit showcased the brand’s signature
designs alongside new concepts. Across reissues, limited editions and new
colourways, the presentation showed how familiar forms can still be
reinterpreted with freshness and restraint.
Designed to illuminate sheet music, the Limited Edition Ph 1/1 Piano Lamp features an adjustable curved arm, adding functionality to its
graceful design.
The Panthella Originals Floor Lamp remains one of Verner
Panton’s most recognisable designs and seeing it again in this context
underlined just how enduring its appeal is. The fluid silhouette and softly
diffused light create a sense of quiet elegance, while the vibrant colourways
add a playful personality.
With the PH 5 320 Opal, Louis Poulsen introduced a softer
material expression that gave the familiar pendant a lighter, more luminous
character, while preserving the clarity of the original form.
The Centenary Editions felt particularly significant, not
simply as commemorative releases but as a reminder of how relevant the brand’s
design principles remain.
New colourways for the PH 3/2, including Burgundy, Green,
Blue and Beige, brought another contemporary layer to the collection. These
reflected the brand's understanding of the value of continuity, while still
being willing to evolve.

The Le Klint exhibition showcased the brand's heritage and drive to create contemporary lighting. We gained early insight into some upcoming designs and new additions to current collections.
The
Carronade II Collection sees a luxurious new Burgundy finish. This
distinctive colourway matches the collection’s elegant and modern character and
complements the oak detailing.
Designed by Jette
Scheib, the Urchina Pendants mark the first design that the German
designer has created for Le Klint. Scheib took inspiration from the sea urchin
and studied its delicate balance between durability and softness. The pleated
shade is synonymous with a Le Klint design, and complements the pendant’s
organic aesthetic. The pendant will be available in three sizes, to fit a range
of interiors.
We saw a
twist on the classic paper lampshade that has become the cornerstone of Le
Klint’s design. New coloured pleated shades combine design tradition with
a modern touch for a fresh twist that will add a bold personality to your
space.

Vibia’s unique installation was set in Strøget, one of
Copenhagen’s most vibrant design areas. The exhibition was conceived as an
immersive experience, inviting visitors to explore the beautiful atmosphere and
upcoming collections.
Designed by Ichiro Iwasaki, the Closer Collection stood out
for the way it brings the visual comfort of interior lighting into outdoor
settings. Its braided mesh shade has a tactile delicacy, yet the materials are
engineered for durability. The light it produces is warm and understated,
giving the collection an ease that feels especially suited to relaxed outdoor
environments.
Inspired by the first glow of dawn, the Alba is a portable
lamp that captures the warm glow and discreet elegance of candlelight. The
ergonomic base fits comfortably in the palm of the hand, making it a delight to
carry from place to place.
The Asia Collection captures the serenity of traditional
oriental rooftops, striking a balance between traditional and contemporary
design. The diffuser is adjustable for
direct or indirect lighting. The collection is available as a pendant, table,
or floor lamp.
Meanwhile, the Array Collection used layered threads to
create luminous forms that felt both lightweight and architectural. The
combination of downlight and upward illumination produced a subtle play of
light and shadow, giving the collection a distinctive presence without
overwhelming the space.
Brokis
Brokis continues to explore its signature balance of craft and experimentation. The expanded Starcloud Collection now includes table and wall light versions, broadening the possibilities of a design already rooted in celestial references. The softly coloured glass gives the pieces an atmospheric, almost dreamlike quality that appears both ornamental and immersive.
The Under Pressure collection offers a more industrial expression. A threaded rod appears to pass directly through the glass, creating a tension between fragility and force that makes the design especially compelling. The shades are manufactured in assorted sizes and typologies that give the pendants a malleable appearance, creating the illusion that the delicate glass is compressed and distorted.
The Arcade Suspension brought a more theatrical presence. Its sweeping silhouette recalls a chandelier, but the use of synthetic silk cords introduces softness and movement that keeps it from feeling formal. The result was elegant, dramatic and surprisingly fluid.

Anglepoise
The Anglepoise exhibit focused on the enduring appeal of task lighting, with a selection
that highlighted the brand’s balance of utility, character and recognisable
form. The 315 – Navigation Edition stood out as a purposeful design
aimed at creative workspaces, offering direct, controlled light in a format
that feels both practical and considered.
Also on
display was the Original 1227 Desk Lamp in a blue shade with a black arm,
a familiar silhouette that continues to feel relevant through its honesty of
function and unmistakable profile. Its presence served as a reminder of how
effectively Anglepoise has refined the archetype of the adjustable desk lamp
without losing the charm of the original design.
The Type
80 in a pale putty finish introduced a softer material note, showing how
subtle colour can shift the mood of a technical design. The muted tone brought
a calm, contemporary quality to the piece while preserving the clean lines and
focused light output that define the collection.

Other Highlights
New Works introduced the Smultron Collection. Named after the wild strawberry, the series draws inspiration from the familiar ritual of threading strawberries onto a straw. The lamps offer a playful yet restrained aesthetic, creating a sense of warmth and familiarity.
Nuura
introduced new glass finishes of Honey and Rose. Inspired by nature, the gentle
colour palette evokes the heather-covered landscapes that surround designer
Sofie Refer’s home.
The Lubia Ceiling/ Wall Light combines a decorative appearance with the illumination required to fill large spaces. The soft, sculptural expression is achieved through a combination of direct and reflected light, which adds a sense of depth and atmosphere.
J. Adams presented an elegant extension of the Apex Collection, introducing new Linear, Wall Light and Floor Lamp variations. The designs have an architectural and highly resolved aesthetic, with solid brass framing textured glass for contrast and precision. The ribbed surface adds a strong sense of depth and shadow, giving the collection a decorative quality without losing its structural discipline.
Santa &
Cole presented their exhibition “Light Reading: Chapter Two”. The display
included the Lámina Collection and the Lamparaprima Lamp, a versatile luminaire
that is designed to stand on a desk or hang on a wall. Released in 1979, the
ingenious design was the first commercial lamp from Spanish designer Pete Sans.

3 Days of
Design allowed brands to showcase their approach to lighting design. Some
leaned into heritage, revisiting familiar forms with renewed clarity, while
others focused on material experimentation, atmosphere or flexibility of use. Across
the festival, the theme “Make This Moment Matter” was apparent through a shared
sense that lighting is not being treated as a purely functional layer, but as
something that shapes mood, character and experience in a much more intentional
way. 3daysofdesign felt like a reminder of how powerfully thoughtful design can
influence the way we live with light.
A huge thank you to the brands that welcomed us at 3daysofdesign 2026. We are already looking forward to next year!
