Tom Dixon Melt Fat Cone LED Floor Lamp
A unique addition to the
Tom Dixon Melt Collection, the Melt Fat Cone Floor Lamp features the iconic shade that resembles molten glass and produces a mesmerising lighting effect. When switched off, the asymmetric shade appears opaque, but once illuminated, it reflects the light to produce a glowing, melting effect. The Melt is crafted through a process of blow moulding and vacuum metallisation to achieve the distinctive orb, which in this instance sits atop a cone-shaped steel base and creates a striking silhouette, similar to that of the
Tom Dixon Melt Portable, but on a larger scale.
In 2024, Tom Dixon introduced a new Opal shade to the Fat Cone Floor Lamp. This version does not utilise the familiar vacuum metallisation process. Instead, the Opal Melt transforms into a softly glowing orb, providing enhanced luminosity. When switched off, the shade appears opaque, with a pearl-like finish.
Tom Dixon introduced the Bronze finish in celebration of Melt's ten-year anniversary, adding a richer, more muted metallic tone to the collection. For 2026, the range has been expanded further with a new Nickel finish, offering a cooler metallic alternative while retaining the distinctive reflective character of the Melt shade.
Available in a range of finishes, the Tom Dixon Melt Fat Cone LED Floor Lamp is well suited to living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and entryways. It can also be used in commercial settings, particularly across hospitality interiors such as hotels, restaurants, and bars.
