&Tradition Topan VP14 Floor Lamp
The Topan was originally designed by Verner Panton as a pendant in 1959. In 1962, when Danish designer Nanna Ditzel sought an unconventional lighting solution for her exhibition, she requested Panton’s iconic lamp. By mounting the spherical shade on an acrylic base, the Topan was transformed, creating the illusion that the shade was hovering above the ground. &Tradition and Verner Panton Design AG have collaborated to reissue the Topan in the form of a
table lamp and floor lamp for the first time in decades. The Topan VP14 Floor Lamp brings a new perspective to Panton’s most recognisable designs while maintaining the playful and atmospheric aesthetic that has become a signature of his approach to design.
The Topan VP14 Floor Lamp is available in Vermilion Red, Chrome, and Grey Beige. All variants feature a clear acrylic base that holds the shade. The shade sits freely on the base, allowing users to direct light where needed. Place the floor lamp beside a sofa or in an office to add functional lighting to the space. The Topan VP14 Floor Lamp stands at 46.5cm, making it suitable for placement on a shelf or table, as well as for use as a freestanding floor lamp. The playful yet refined design complements both residential and commercial spaces.
