&Tradition Topan VP13 Table Lamp

Verner Panton designed the Topan pendant in 1959. In 1962, it was reimagined as a table and floor lamp when designer Nanna Ditzel required an unconventional lighting solution for her exhibition. The spherical shade was mounted on a clear acrylic base, giving the illusion that the shade was hovering above the ground. Originally, Verner Panton envisioned the lamp to be placed facing a wall, allowing light to be reflected back into the room.

&Tradition has collaborated with Verner Panton Design AG to reissue the Topan Table and Floor Lamp for the first time in decades. The Topan VP13 Table Lamp maintains the playful and atmospheric aesthetic that has become a signature with Panton’s designs. The recognisable shade is available in three bold finishes: Vermilion Red, Chrome-Plated, and Grey Beige. Each variant sits freely on a clear cylindrical shade, allowing the user to direct light to where required. This directed, functional light is ideal for use as a reading light beside a sofa or in an office.
