Founded in 1967 by Gubi and Lisbeth Olsen and headquartered in Copenhagen, Gubi is a leading Danish design house that seeks to bring classic light design and aesthetics to the modern world. With their son Jacob Gubi Olsen now in the role of Creative Director, Gubi constantly strives to make new waves by frequently collaborating with contemporary designers, producing light fixtures and furniture that still harken to vintage design with a fresh and modern twist. Producing designs by renowned 20th-century designers such as Greta M. Grossman, Louis Weisdorf and Paavo Tynell, Gubi lighting brings their forms to fruition as they reinvent and reinvigorate designs from the forgotten past, making classic lights and furniture staples available to the present-day home and workplace.

Gubi manufactures and distributes iconic lamps and lights, such as the Gräshoppa Floor Lamp, the Cobra Table Lamp and the Multilite Collection. They are the go-to brand for finding lights that are completely timeless and everlasting, whether diving into archives or driving the designs of today, Gubi is responsible for a timeless, inventive, and international collection of lighting, furniture and interior objects that merge function with meaning, and enhance whatever space they are displayed in. Their most memorable rerelease is that of the Bestlite lamps, originally designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930 and celebrated for their timeless elegance, functional versatility, and historical significance.

Designs by Gubi utilise a variety of high-quality materials, including travertine, limestone and marble, creating stunning applications that are apt to serve in both residential and commercial settings. Their lighting solutions span from compact portable lamps, and functional table and floor lamps, to more vast suspensions and abstract wall lights.
