Akari 45A Pendant Light by Vitra

Part of the Akari Lights collection, the 45A suspension, with its round shape, emits a soft and warm light, while the 2m cable allows you to install it in both low and high-ceiling spaces. The Akari Light Sculptures were designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1951, who commented on the design The harshness of electricity is thus transformed through the magic of paper back to the light of our origin – the sun.

Each 45A luminaire, as well as the rest of the Akari lights, are meticulously hand-crafted in the Ozeki workshop, at a family-owned business. Each product can take up to 6 hours to complete. The frame of the pendant is made of bamboo rods, with washi paper stripes glued on the structure.
