Tom Dixon is a leading British design brand established in 2002.The Tom Dixon brand is inspired by its unique British heritage and launches lighting, furniture and accessories collections annually in Milan, New York, London and Paris. Obsessed with honest materials, and a commitment to innovative design, Tom Dixon lighting fits perfectly with the David Village Lighting ethos.
Their best sellers include the iconic Beat, Copper and Etch lighting collections, all on display in our new showroom.
Formed in 2002, the talented and untrained designer Tom Dixon created a brand under his own name to research and develop his industrial lighting & furniture designs. Some of Tom Dixon’s bestselling items are his earlier and most iconic pieces.
“I was involved in an initiative in Jaipur to create alternative possibilities for the rapidly vanishing craftsmen and their skills, and the Beat Light was born from that project” - Tom Dixon. Created and inspired by the traditional brass work of the Northern Indian craftsman of Moradabad, Tom Dixon introduced these skills into his own collection. The Beat lights feature elements such as spun, braised and beaten brass, all formed by hand to make each pendant unique.
Available in four shapes: stout, tall, fat and wide, as well as four colourways.
The Variety in size and colour makes for a dynamic and personal display of Beat lights, ideal in a linear formation over a dining table, or as a cluster over a kitchen island.
The Beat family has grown over the years due to its huge popularity, expanding to table, wall and floor lamps.
In 2015, Milan’s Salone del Mobile exhibition saw an exciting array of new and experimental lighting designs, Melt was the star! During the exhibition Tom Dixon even performed with his band under a glowing canopy of Melt pendants.
Melt resembles two pendants by Tom Dixon (Mirror ball & Copper round) which have been melted to produce this new unique design. The Melt pendants take on a warped effect in the vacuum process, a key feature being the opaque metal finish when not illuminated, then glowing transparency when lit.
Tom Dixon’s Melt light makes the perfect cluster feature due to its irregular shape, staggering the small and large size at varied heights has a very engaging effect.
As we settle into 2019, we look forward to seeing the ever-changing trends and up-coming inventions from the creative mind of Tom Dixon. Shop Tom Dixon’s best selling lighting and keep an eye out for more exciting releases on the David Village Lighting website.

Black, Blue and Smoke
As a family business here at David Village Lighting we are always excited about new lighting families, especially when the latest colour trends are incorporated.
Tom Dixon are right up to the minute with their latest collections.
Expanding on some of their best selling ranges, they have introduced three new colour ways; black, blue and smoke.
Inspired by the 60s theme that brought the Mirror Ball into existence, the crisp, vivid blue finish was taken from the pop art movement and their unapologetic use of colour.
Collections Bell and Copper are now available in this dynamic and refreshing new finish. Chosen because of their futuristic design the bold blue compliments the iconic silhouettes perfectly.
Glossy black is often a designer’s favourite finish; it’s sleek, modern and can fits easily into a variation of interior styles.
Popularly used in Japanese furniture design and Bauhaus interiors, the glossy black Bell table is an easy way of adding a stylish feature into your home.
To compliment the existing collection of Melt pendant lights, a new smoke colour has been added to the gold, copper and chrome finishes.
The moody yet stylish smokey finish is an increasingly popular choice for contemporary homes. As smoke is not quite as harsh or dark as black, it’s a more versatile feature which adds an edgy style.

To celebrate this holiday season we have put together some of our favourite lights and brands with a Christmas touch!
Showroom Christmas Opening Times:
Open Tuesday 23rd Dec , Closed from 24th December 2014 until 5th January 2015
This photo features a collection of Moooi lighting including the Moooi Random and the Moooi Prop. The Moooi Random seen suspended from the ceiling in white look like giant snow flakes or baubles giving a lovely chritsmassy feel.
The Kartell Bookworm is given a touch of Christmas glamour with the addition of fairy lights!
Bocci lights are magical and at christmas time they can be clustered together to created a Christmas Bauble inspired light feature. This photo pictures the Bocci 14 series lights.
THis is one of our favourite Christmas E Cards from Muuto. It features the simplistic Muuto E27 in the top left hand corner.
A small bit of Christmas Magic can be added by the Tom Dixon Etch Tea Light Holders. A Sparkley and glitzy Tea Light holder that fits in with the colours of Christmas.
Have a great time this festive season and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!
