Tom Dixon Whirl

The Tom Dixon Whirl Collection is the brand's latest experiment in mirrored reflections. The collection was inspired by Optical Art, a movement popular in the 1960s that explored optical illusions created by distorted or manipulated geometric patterns. The spiral patterns featured on the shade reference this movement, creating a myriad of internal reflections that confuse the eye.

The Whirl Collection features a pendant, floor chandelier, surface light, outdoor portable lamp, chandelier, table lamp, and floor lamp. Each piece is crafted in a state-of-the-art factory in Germany using the same process of Injection Blow moulding that is synonymous with Tom Dixon’s polycarbonate shades. This process results in a structure that is both lightweight and durable. The metallic finish of Gold or Silver is achieved through a vacuum metallisation process, where a thin layer of metal is deposited on the inside of the shade.

The Whirl Collection is designed to dazzle and is as ornamental off as it is when switched on.
