Moooi Random Light II

The Random Light was originally created by Bertjan Pot while he was experimenting with the remains of his graduation project. While Moooi co-founder Marcel Wanders was curating design pieces for Moooi's collection, he was impressed by the design, noting that it would be a perfect fit for his brand. The Random Light II Collection is a celebration of this iconic pendant. The design has been aesthetically perfected, boasting a more user-friendly experience and a longer lifespan.

The Random Light II Collection includes three pendants in small, medium, and large sizes. To create the rounded shade, epoxy-soaked yarn is randomly coiled around an inflated beach ball. Once set, the ball is then deflated and removed from the pendant’s round opening. Due to the hand-crafted and random nature of the shade, no two Random Lights are the same, nor are they completely round, meaning you have a truly unique piece.

Each pendant is available in a white or black finish, complementing the contemporary design. The open-weaved design prevents creating a visual block in the room and gives the pendant its lightweight aesthetic. When switched on, the Random Light II diffuses light in all directions, while the coiled shade plays with shadow to create a mesmerising display. Install individually, over a dining table, or in clusters of varying sizes and finishes for a unique display that will leave a lasting impression.
