Moooi Random Light II Large Pendant

Innovative designer Bertjan Pot designed the Random Light II Large Pendant for lighting brand Moooi. The Random Light was Pot’s first design for Moooi, born from Pot experimenting with the remains of his graduation project. The updated Random Light has been perfected both aesthetically and in terms of its user-friendly design, boasting the same simplicity and lightness as the original.

To create the weaved pendant, resin-soaked yarn is coiled around an inflated beach ball. When set, the ball is deflated and removed through the round opening in the pattern. As each pendant is expertly crafted by hand, no two lights are the same, and they are never completely round.

When lit, the Random Light II Large Pendant diffuses light in all directions, while the random texture of the shade plays with shadows to create a captivating display. The open weaving throughout the pendant means that, despite its large size, the Random Light II doesn’t cause a visual block, creating the illusion of weightlessness. Available in a white or black finish, the contemporary design of the Random Light II Large Pendant suits a wide range of interiors.
