Marcel Wanders

Marcel Wanders founded his visionary design studio in Amsterdam, where they create iconic designs, classic products, and contemporary collections. In 2001, Wanders joined forced with Casper Vissers to form Moooi, a lighting design brand that aims to 'inspire and seduce the world with breathtaking, innovative designs'. Moooi is now a well-known and well-loved designer brand that describes its products as 'original, unexpected, eclectic, rebellious and sophisticated'.

Marcel Wanders' most recognisable designs are the Pet Light Collection or, more recently, the Hubble Bubble Suspension Light. These designs feature a new and exciting lighting technique that was created by the Marcel Wanders Studio. This technique, called Electrosandwich®, allows LED lights to be used with minimal wiring. Electrosandwich® also allows many LED lights to be lit simultaneously, as well as allowing the LED lights to be as thin as possible. This adds to the elegance of the designs and creates a clean silhouette that adds an elegant touch to interiors.
