Product Description

HAY Pao Steel Floor Lamp


The Pao Steel Floor Lamp was designed by Naoto Fukasawa, a minimalist Japanese designer who believes that success means creating something that brings joy to other people’s lives. Fukasawa created the Pao Collection after being inspired by the soft, glowing shape of traditional Mongolian Pao tents illuminated at night-time. He aimed to replicate the warm, cosy ambience of the tents through the lamp’s softly diffused light.

The high-gloss grey, white and black finishes add a minimal monochrome aesthetic to your space, whilst the sturdy steel structure brings an industrial presence. Ideal for homes and commercial spaces, this sleek and contemporary design provides a glare-free indirect light that creates a warming atmosphere.

Naoto Fukasawa

Naoto Fukasawa is a Japanese designer, born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1956. He studied at Tama Art University in their Product Design department and graduated in 1980. The same year as his graduation, Fukasawa joined Seiko Epson, where he was responsible for advanced development design, and his career began.
