The inspiration for Takai came from brutalist architecture, and Lefevre wanted to design a series of lights that focus on materials, textures and tactility. Takai produces a softly diffused illumination that is fed through the sides of the shade but also escapes through the top and bottom of the drum, generating a more even illumination.
