Artemide Gople Outdoor Lamp

The Gople Outdoor Lamp was designed by BIG, a design collective that stands for Bjarke Ingels Group. A group made up of architects, designers and thinkers, they aim to create an outdoor light that allows for ultimate freedom. They aim to create a light that closely interacts with activities and people and this is where the idea for the Gople Outdoor came about. BIG describe this outdoor lamp as 'enabling new ways of using light in outdoor spaces with the utmost freedom'.

The lightweight and durable moulded polyethylene diffuser creates a hardwearing yet beautiful design that delicately brightens the surroundings. The freedom and flexibility within the design of this lamp implies an 'almost nomadic character' that can move around a space with ease. This mobility allows for different interpretations of spaces and caters to the changing requirements of outdoor living.

The suspension kit, when added to the body lamp, the lamp is transformed into a floating orb that can be freely positioned or hung anywhere using the hook and rope. The ability to easily change the fitting and choose to position the Gople light on the floor or in a tree or over hanging. This adds to the mobility and functionality of the lamp whilst maintaining the simplicity and beauty in the design.
