New Releases at David Village Lighting

22 September 2023

Wondering what's new at David Village Lighting?

As lighting season approaches, there has been a wide range of new releases from some of our brands in the past month, varying in style, size and functionality. We have put together all of the designer lights that we have been lucky enough to add to our website recently - so you can browse with ease.

Let's take a deep dive into some of our new products, featuring brand-new lighting solutions from Louis Poulsen, Muuto, HAY, &Tradition, Buster + Punch, Marset, Gubi and Anglepoise.

Louis Poulsen

Louis Poulsen have released some stunning lighting solutions in the past month, their new collection features a range of products, including table lamps, pendants and portable lamps. Featured in Louis Poulsen's new releases are the latest finishes of the AJ collection, the table, mini table, floor and wall lights are now available in five new finishes: Electric Orange, Pale Sand, Dusty Blue, Soft Lemon and Warm Grey. Louis Poulsen have also expanded the Panthella range, now including the Panthella 250 Portable Lamp - a modern take on the classic 250 Table Lamp.

The VL56 Pendant was also released in September 2023, and is available in two finishes, either chrome or brass, and provides a beautiful downward light. The body of the VL 56 boasts a radial perforation pattern which softens the illumination and creates a stunning spotted pattern onto the surrounding areas.

An annual tradition for Louis Poulsen is their special edition lamp that runs for three months at the end of the year. The 2023 edition is the PH Luna, a gorgeous table lamp which resembles a crescent moon and boasts the classic PH lampshade. The untreated brass structure will patina beautifully over time, allowing the lamp to develop its own character. The PH Luna Table Lamp officially launches on October 1st but is available for pre-order!

Muuto

Muuto have mastered the art of minimalistic Scandinavian design and their new releases are no different. Our team first encountered the Calm Wall Light when it was just a prototype at 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen, it produces a soft and calming illumination that we immediately loved. It is available in three sizes and allows you to not only dim the illumination but also adjust the colour temperature as you desire.

Muuto have also extended their Strand collection, now adding a table lamp to the range. The Strand Table Lamp features the same cocoon material as the pendants, with a soft and playful design that is fitted with a hidden light source that illuminates the whole form. This table lamp produces a warm, comfortable glow.

The final addition to the Muuto 2023 Releases was the Fine Suspension Light, a modern take on a classic tube light which combines industrial minimalism with refined detailing. The Fine Suspension can be displayed vertically or horizontally and is available in three colours, and three sizes. This minimalist lighting solution is perfect for both ambient and task lighting, a beautiful and versatile lamp.

&Tradition

The latest &Tradition releases feature minimalist shapes and produce ambient lighting. The Utzon Pendant has now been developed in Blue Steel, this special edition finish was designed to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the completion of the Sydney Opera House, and the colour references the hue of the water surrounding the building.

The Mist collection was the largest addition to &Tradition this season, featuring two pendants of varying sizes and a table lamp. The Mist Table Lamp features a mouth-blown glass oval shade in a sophisticated opal colour and a forest green marble cylinder base; the two materials contrast each other beautifully and the warm illumination emitted through the shade highlights the details in the marble. The Mist Pendants boast the same opal mouth-blown glass shade, suspended from a slim cable. The Mist AP15 Pendant is the smaller of the two, whilst the Mist AP16 features a slightly larger shade diameter.

A colourful accompaniment to &Traditions work is the Pivot Lamp, a smaller portable lighting solution that can be easily maneuvered from room to room. Pivot features a strong geometric shape and is available in two bold finishes; either Rusty Mint or Blue Silver. The modern design is angled 45 degrees to the base, allowing the light to reflect off the base, creating a more vibrant and prominent ombre of colour and the perfect glowing ambience.

Marset

Marset offers unique and playful lighting solutions and their new releases are no different. The Fragile Table Lamp, designed by Jaume Ramírez, boasts a solid glass structure, with an LED tube fitted through the centre. The light source is allowed to radiate from every direction and results in an even dispersion of light. Fragile speaks of purity and lightness, and is available in two finishes - either transparent glass or amber.

Our team first discovered Marset Sips Portable Lamp at Euroluce in Milan and we were immediately drawn to its unique structure. Sips was designed by Christophe Mathieu and features a small opaque shade on the head that provides a direct and intimate illumination to the table below without overpowering the space and without glare. Sips is available in three finishes: white, brown or green.

Exterior lighting is a speciality at Marset, so the new Palosanto collection was no surprise. The Palosanto Outdoor Wall Light offers a directional light that can be manually rotated by up to 360 degrees. Palosanto is designed to prevent glare and reflect the light source throughout the light, providing a subtle ambient indirect and direct illumination. Crafted from durable aluminium, the Palosanto Exterior Wall Light can withstand even the toughest weather conditions.
