Serge Mouille Formes Noires

The Serge Mouille Formes Noires family brings together some of the designer's most recognisable black metal lamps, including the compact Tripod desk lamp of 1954 and the 1 Arm Standing Floor Lamp created in 1953. Each piece uses the same visual language of fine steel masts, three legged bases, shell like aluminium shades and the signature brass ball joint, giving the luminaires a kinetic, almost animated quality while keeping the overall composition clear and minimal. Seen together, the family reads as a series of drawn lines and small sculptural volumes that animate desks, side tables and corners of a room.

Handmade in France by Editions Serge Mouille using original tools and specifications, the Formes Noires lamps are finished in black lacquer with a glossy white interior that optimises reflection and provides a controlled, comfortable light. The Tripod desk lamp focuses illumination onto work surfaces and bedside tables, while the Standing 1 Arm floor lamp offers adjustable reading light beside sofas and lounge chairs or acts as a quiet focal point in hospitality and gallery spaces.
