Originally designed in 1986 by Oscar Tusquets Blanca, the Bib Luz emerged from a simple yet ingenious idea: how best to illuminate a bookshelf without casting shadows over the spines. Rather than concealing a light within the shelves, Oscar proposed bringing the light source outward and forward, anchoring it within a discreet form shaped like a book. The result was a warm, intelligent lighting object that quietly blends into any library or reading room, serving a deeply practical purpose with poetic clarity.
Reissued in collaboration with Santa & Cole, the latest version of Bib Luz offers improved optics, upgraded LED technology, and greater versatility. It retains its unique book-shaped housing, now available in off-white or aluminium finishes, and includes a click-on chrome-plated arm that holds an adjustable spotlight. Designed to connect multiple units in series from a single power source, Bib Luz is equally suited to private libraries, studies, and curated retail or hospitality spaces, offering soft, non-dazzling illumination where it’s needed most.
