The Louis Poulsen AJ collection is one of the most iconic lighting series in Danish design history, originally created by Arne Jacobsen in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Conceived as part of a total design vision, from the building architecture down to the cutlery, the AJ lamps were designed with the same balance of geometry, elegance, and function that characterise Jacobsen’s architectural work. Each piece features the distinctive asymmetrical shade, which tilts and swivels to direct light precisely where needed, paired with clean lines and a subtle tilt of the stem to create a striking yet understated form.
