Axolight Orchid

The Orchid Collection was designed by Austrian designer Rainer Mutsch. The collection, which includes a table lamp, suspension, ceiling/ wall light, and floor lamp, was inspired by nature. Mutsch studied how buds are connected to the stem to create a flower-shaped diffuser and streamlined rod. “I’m fascinated by how the flower seems relatively fragile near the stem and how then it reveals all its beauty when it blooms.” As well as echoing the funnel shape of the flower, the shape of the diffuser prevents overheating to ensure maximum duration of the lamp.

The Orchid Collection is a sculptural series of lights which are captivating even when not in use. When illuminated, the conical diffuser creates a wide spread of light for bright, functional lighting. Although effective when installed individually, the collection stands out when used in combination for a cohesive theme throughout the home that brings an element of nature indoors. In commercial spaces, the minimalistic design suits contemporary office spaces or luxury boutiques for a clean, simplistic aesthetic.
