Potence Wall Light by Vitra

The Potence wall lamp is one of Jean Prouvé's puristic masterpieces. It was designed as a pivoting lamp for Jean Prouvé's house concept 'Maison Tropique' in 1950. Although the house was not successful, many of the individual elements of the design, such as this lamp have become regarded as modern day masterpieces.

Reduced to the essentials – a light bulb and a pivoting wall mount – the long swing arm is made of powder-coated tubular steel with a beechwood handle. The pure and functional nature of this light makes it fresh and modern, despite being created in the 20th century, and has enjoyed success for many decades. With such a long movement the Potence can serve as both a reading light or a general light when swung into the centre of a room.

This light needs to be installed near a socket as it comes with a cable and plug.
