Santa & Cole Bib Luz LED Table Lamp

Originally conceived in 1986 by Oscar Tusquets Blanca, the Bib Luz is a quietly radical approach to bookshelf lighting. Rather than hiding a source within the shelving, Tusquets proposed a lamp that sits forward, projecting light across the spines of books from the outside in. Its form mimics a book, making it almost invisible among others, with a slender metallic housing and a rotating chrome arm supporting a compact spotlight. It’s practical, clever, and discreet, designed to minimise visual clutter while maximising clarity.

This updated version, developed in collaboration with Santa & Cole, refines the original design with integrated LED technology and improved optics. The adjustable aluminium spotlight emits a warm 2700K glow, perfect for ambient reading light without glare. With finishes in off-white or aluminium, Bib Luz includes an optional base plate and an accessory for daisy-chaining multiple units from a single socket, ideal for creative bookshelf compositions in homes, libraries, bookshops or boutique hotels.
