The Orient pendant was originally designed by Jo Hammerborg in 1963 and was relaunched in 2013 by Fritz Hansen to celebrate 50 years of this light. Closely collaborating with the Hammerborg family, this pendant has found new life since its release and maintains all of its original elegance and modern look. The shade is made from aluminium or real copper, hand-spun using a wooden mould to mark true craftsmanship and its timeless aesthetic. The top of the shade has a rosewood or oak finish, lending a contrast in the pendant to create a dynamic and spectacular light.
The Orient pendant light emits a soft downward glow that makes it great for both illuminating the room and as a spotlight over surfaces and tables. Suitable for both commercial interiors and domestic settings, this light thrives in lounges, dining rooms and kitchens, either as one feature light or in a row or cluster.
