Catellani & Smith Fil de Fer Floor Light

The iconic shade of the Fil de Fer floor light is formed through the weaving of wire aluminium that is backlit by an arrangement of bulbs on the inside of the sphere. Designed and made by Enzo Catellani, this lamp was originally installed as a special commission in Catellani's workshop. Due to its enchanting atmosphere and elegant appearance, this magical lamp was brought back to the drawing board and was quickly developed into the light it is today.

Catellani decided to continue working on the Fil de Fer design and once released it became one of Catellani & Smiths' most successful designs. The glistening aluminium is formed in such a way that it is unique to every shade. Each shade is completely different and expresses the love and passion of the craftmanship as each shade is handcrafted with care. The floor lamp is dimmable and easily placed wherever style and light are needed. Whether that be in a living space, hallway or bedroom, the Ful de Fer floor lamp adds a plentiful touch to any space.
