Fritz Hansen

Established in 1872 in Copenhagen, and named after its founder, Fritz Hansen is an international design brand, proud of their tradition of creating furniture and lighting of exquisite craftsmanship, quality and timeless design. The first fifty years of the company were defined by a long list of prestigious contracts that included producing furniture for the Danish Parliament and Supreme Court at Christiansburg Palace, the University Library, Copenhagen City Hall and other significant institutions. Fritz Hansen’s philosophy is “ a single piece of furniture or lighting can beautify an entire room or building – and heighten the well-being of the people who inhabit these spaces” - a philosophy which we share at David Village Lighting. Now their collections consist of world-famous classics and contemporary products within furniture, lighting and accessories.

Fritz Hansen work with internationally recognised designers and architects to develop and manufacture high-quality modern lighting which combines progressive and timeless aesthetics, tangibly expressed through functional design and refined lighting technology. The result is a series of iconic pieces that stand the test of time nd can be seen in private and commercial interiors around the globe. Amongst Fritz Hansen's lighting collection is their instant design icon the Caravaggio Pendant and the classic Orient Pendant, created by Jo Hammerborg in 1963 and relaunched in 2013.
