Originally a qualified chartered surveyor, Tage Klint (1884 - 1953) was a creative entrepreneur and the driving force behind the Klint family shade-making being turned into a business. In 1943, he established Le Klint and added the unique collar to the original Klint lampshades, which exploits the elasticity in the material, allowing the shade to fit firmly in place on a stand. This is now an iconic feature of their luminaires.

Tage Klint also designed a number of lighting solutions for the brand, many of which are still manufactured and are full-time additions to the Le Klint catalogue. During his career, Klint also established two other companies, Lactosan and Sanovo, as well as being the director of De Forenede Automobilfabrikker A/S ("United Automobile Factories"), which built vehicles sold under the name Triangel.

Sadly, in 1951, Tage Klint became seriously ill, and his son, Jan Klint, who lived in the USA, was summoned home. Two years later, Tage Klint died, and Jan Klint assumed the position of director of Le Klint. During the 1950s, the company was streamlined, production began on new models, and export markets were cultivated.
