Raimond Puts
Raimond Puts was born in the Netherlands in 1937. He was a self-taught machine designer with experience as a mathematics professor. His fascination with building with geometric shapes started at a young age, when he would play with his Meccano toy box. He went on to gain a technical education where, amongst other skills, he was trained in the craft of metalwork.

Raimond Puts experimented with various shapes and models to create geometric forms. These constructions became more refined before Puts introduced the use of LEDs. His collection of lights, the Raimond II, encompass all of these skills and techniques. The lights feature a premium design that combines stainless steel with integrated LED light sources, creating a soft glow reminiscent of starlight. The Raimond light won the best Woonproduct of 2010 Award (Sanoma Woon Awards).

After Puts died in 2012, Moooi created the Raimond Floor Lamp, based on one of the late designer's prototypes.
"It's a special story, since Raimond Puts died a few years ago. We found a wonderful prototype for a standing lamp, and now we present it to the world." - Moooi co-founder Marcel Wanders
