Omar Carraglia is a Spanish industrial designer who was born in Barcelona in 1969. Carraglias's career started during the academic period through various collaborations with design and architecture firms. In 1994, he founded his own studio, where to this day he still leads a team of qualified professionals in various fields of design. Omar Carraglia's projects range from interior and industrial design in the commercial and private sectors to product design for smaller-scale interiors.
His design philosophy is based on spatial order and geometric proportion, utilising simple forms and technologically advanced light sources. Playfulness is another essential quality of many of Carraglia's designs, creating unique silhouettes and eye-catching forms in order to shape and define the centre of any space, whilst creating a conversation starter.
Carraglia's speciality is extensive, minimalistic, and conceptual lighting designs, many of which have been curated with Italian manufacturer
Davide Groppi, granting him recognition in the industry. Several of Omar Carraglia's designs for Davide Groppi have received recognition with industry awards, which include the World Contract Awards, the ICFF Editors Awards, and the ASCER FAD Awards, among others.
