Falke Svatun is a Norwegian designer whose practice exists at the intersection of industrial design, sculpture, and material exploration. After studying industrial design in Sydney and working professionally in Copenhagen, he returned to his native Oslo to establish his own studio. His approach to design blends analogue sketching with digital refinement, always rooted in a belief that ideas must mature over time to achieve lasting impact. This philosophy lends his work a thoughtful clarity, where form is stripped back to its essentials but never loses its emotional or tactile resonance.
Across furniture, lighting, and objects, Svatun’s work explores the tension between function and abstraction. His designs often draw inspiration from everyday forms and overlooked typologies, reinterpreting them through subtle shifts in material, proportion, or silhouette. Whether through the sculptural presence of the New Works Kantarell pendant or the quiet poetics of earlier pieces, his work invites reflection and sensory engagement. Recognised by institutions such as Wallpaper*, The New York Times, and Bo Bedre, and exhibited internationally in Milan, New York, and Oslo, Svatun has become a distinct voice in contemporary Nordic design, known for his restraint, material integrity, and conceptual depth.
