Bruno Munari was an Italian artist and designer born in Milan in 1907 who contributed to a diverse range of fields. He was considered one of the greatest figures of 20th-century art, design, and graphics and is a prominent figure in the world of Italian design. In 1930, he worked as a graphic designer with Riccardo Castagnedi, and from 1938 until 1943, he worked as a graphic designer for Mondadori and his two magazines. In the late 1940s and 1950s, Bruni Munari developed a strong and playful style, alongside his prominent futurist and constructivist influences.

Much of Munari's life was spent around books, so it wasn't surprising when he devoted much of his later career to designing books and toys to stimulate thinking. His creations in the fields of painting, sculpture, design, photography, and education are still influential to this day and can be seen displayed at various galleries and exhibitions. Bruno Munari has collaborated with numerous poignant brands, including Artemide, for whom he created the Falkland and Bali collections.

"Bringing order to chaos means distinguishing, classifying, and memorising. When this material is used creatively, it becomes possible to intervene by designing more human objects." - Bruno Munari
