Artemide Empatia

Artemide Empatia is inspired by the association between the great glass-blowing tradition and the LED technology of Artemide, developed through co-operation with master glass blowers to gain full control of the special suppleness of Venetian glass and the balance between surface and light, between subtle densities and transparencies. Each piece is a clear, pure craft object.

Transparency and opacity are wisely dosed to obtain a glass that reflects light without glaring and without losing efficiency. A high-performance LED light engine is designed separately from the glass emission body to improve thermal efficiency and performance, with light directed towards the diffuser through a transparent pipe with a very low absorption coefficient.

Artemide Empatia includes suspension, table and wall or ceiling versions, each combining blown glass with methacrylate and aluminium in a restrained white finish. The collection received the 2014 Wallpaper Design Awards and a 2014 iF Product Design Award.
