Muuto Platform Tray

The Platform tray was specifically made to have a multi-functional use. You can set it on a flat surface and store your favourite things, while the three legs elevate them in a platform. Otherwise, use the Platform as a tray to transfer things across rooms. The Platform can be both a small table and a small tray.

The designers, Sam Hencht and Kim Colin, wished to create a functional item that also can stand alone and be admired as a piece of design by incorporating elements of Scandinavian design and Japanese art. The choice of different materials for the tray further reflect the clash of functions; molded plastic for the tray with an oak veneer insert. The wood gives each tray a sense of individuality whilst the plastic is a firm, steady material that is practical, combining functionality and aesthetic beauty through the materials.
