a-emotional light Tempo Andante

The Tempo Andante Pendant was designed by Arturo Alvarez for a-emotional light. The shade is made of painted a stainless-steel mesh called SIMETECH®. SIMETECH® allows typically resistant steel to become malleable, becoming easy to fold into organic-looking shapes. The material is pleated and overlapped into two layers that cover the light source. The finely folded pleats give volume to the pendant and the light source illuminates the entire pendant and emits a soft downlight. The escaping light adds a playful effect of light and shadows in the room.

The Tempo Andante is a dynamic light with a lively shape full of movement. The other pendant in the collection, The Vivace, follows the same theme of capturing movement. Both pendants are designed to illustrate a moment in time where two objects moving at different tempos are captured at the same time. The Andante can be installed on its own or with The Vivace to add ambient lighting to domestic spaces such living rooms or hallways. The downward directional light makes them perfect for illuminating dining tables or desks.
