Tom Dixon Soft Pendant

BRAND NEW, OVERSTOCK. BOXED IN A-GRADE ORIGINAL PACKAGING.

The Soft Pendant conveys a more neutral side of Tom Dixon, a departure from the reflective, metallic finishes typical to the brand. Each pendant is created using welded steel frames that are covered in sprayed thermoplastic polyurethane – a durable and flexible material that bridges the gap between plastic and rubber. TPU was originally created by the US military to coat metal surfaces to prevent corrosion, providing the ultra-matte textile with protective properties. When illuminated, SOFT’s metal framework is revealed, forming a geometric pattern composed of multiple wire circles. The TPU shade diffuses light into a paper-like glow, reminiscent of traditional lanterns.
