Parachilna Petra Table Lamp

This simplistic-looking table lamp by Parachilna was designed by Jordi Veciana who wishes to use his work to demonstrate the beauty of materials. The Petra Lamp is completely made of alabaster which is an ancient material often found by archeologists in century-old ornaments and vases. This material is a mineral formed in caves that is soft enough to create sculptures and ornaments out of, however, it is also strong enough to withstand the test of time.

Although the design is simplistic, the alabaster adds a complexity that is unique to each lamp. When illuminated, the alabaster's colouring and detailing are revealed and can create a stunning sight. Each stone is different and it is the imperfections of each shade that create the beauty.
