Planet Chandelier by Moooi

Kranen/Gille initially designed the chandelier as part of their exhibition "The Industrial Essence of Kranen/Gille" for the Het Noordbrabants Museum of Art in the Netherlands. The Plant Chandelier eventually ended up joining the museum's permanent collection. The design of the chandelier was inspired by nature itself, and mimics the architectural structures that are randomly formed, while retaining a poetic essence. The work of Karl Blossfeldt who took numerous close-up photographs of plants, provided the basis for the design of the Plant Chandelier; the silhouette of the chandelier follows that of tree branches, growing upwards as they feed from the sun light.

Geometric and linear, the Plant Chandelier makes a statement in any interior environment. The light can hang beautifully above a dining table or the hallway and is suitable for both residential and commercial use. The galvanised steel body with a golden finish forms the branches, and each branch ends into a frosted glass dome that diffuse the light. A truly unique design that will compliment any modern interior decor.
