Brave New World Lamp by Moooi

FreshWest designers begun their project by mimicking Far Eastern bamboo scaffolding, the Brave New World floor lamp was created with no actual design in mind. The floor lamp consists of numerous pieces of wood that are notched and pegged together, creating the fundamental part of the mechanical structure. While the choice of working with small pieces of wood, little by little, this method allowed the designers to be more responsive. Brave New World is a sculptural design, with two large cast iron weights holding it in place. One cast iron has the Dutch company's name on it while the other bares the designers' name. Brave New World lamp is available in two sizes, the Large and Extra-Large.
