HAY Marselis LED Floor Lamp

The HAY Marselis LED Floor Lamp was designed by Studio Kaschkasch which is formed by a duo, Florian Kallus and Sebastian Schneider, in 2011. The duo prides themselves on their design's straightforwardness and beauty that toes the line between function and formal severity. Inspired by the bent tubing around local street signs, they used die cast aluminium and steel to create the striking arched silhouette of the HAY Marselis LED Floor Lamp. The light source is an injection moulded polycarbonate opalescent lens that conceals a flat panel of light which cleverly rotates to direct and diffuse light in the surroundings.

The logical thinking and modest intelligence of the duo who designed this floor lamp is seen in the counterweight system that allows the tall arched tubing to stand upright. The heavy cast iron base perfectly balances the lamp so that it can arch round the diffuser and replicate the local street signs that inspired the design. This elegant floor lamp is available in two finishes, Soft Black and Ash Grey, both of which highlight the simplicity and beauty of the design.
