Kurage Table Lamp by Foscarini


The Kurage table lamp was designed by Nendo, a Japanese design group founded by Oki Sato. The name Kurage is the Japanese translation of jellyfish, which this table lamp undoubtedly resembles. With a domed lampshade and slender legs, this lamp seems to float in the air just like a creature in the water, being dainty, intriguing and delicate.

The shade is made from Japanese washi paper which sits on a transparent structure to make sure the light is shadow-free. The paper shade diffuses the light, creating a soft and warm atmosphere, perfect for relaxing in your space. Suitable for both domestic and commercial settings, the Kurage table light can be used in many rooms to provide a comfy and cosy ambience in a fresh, innovative way.

Oki Sato

Oki Sato is a Japanese designer and architect, famous for his cheerful take on minimalism. He studied Architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo, before opening Nendo studios in 2002.
