Penta was founded in 1975 in the heart of Brianza in Italy. The company began by producing just five lines of basic furniture pieces and accessories for homes. After not too long, they decided to branch out to include lighting in their portfolio, launching Penta Light into new levels of success and leading to them becoming pioneers of modern lighting. The inspiration behind each Penta Light design is excellent craftsmanship, experimenting with cutting-edge technology and utilising refined materials. Penta Light has three main principles when it comes to design: quality, elegance and functionality, and each lighting solution manufactured by the brand follows strict quality control regulations to ensure each piece that leaves their warehouse is of the best possible standards.

Every lighting solution in the Penta Light catalogue is 100% made in Italy, and they are inspired by the art of master craftsmen who put heart, skill, and knowledge into the service of their expert hands. They use Borosilicate glass throughout their designs, which is handcrafted, meaning each piece has distinctive features that are a guarantee of their uniqueness. Throughout the brand's history, they have translated the ideas of sophisticated and unconventional designers into luminous objects where formal beauty meets functional utility. In 2014, Penta Light was acquired by Andrea Citterio and in 2021, they became part of the Auralis Group. Their ethos is to create elegant lighting that is designed to meet the everyday needs of consumers.
