Founded by Samuel Lambert in 2010, Lambert & Fils is a contemporary lighting design studio that prides itself on the bond it maintains between design and making. Samuel Lambert observed his father from a young age working as a ceramic artist in his studio. The legacy came full circle shortly after the birth of his youngest son, as Lambert began gathering his original designs under a new concept: Lambert & Fils (Lambert & Sons), a brand with a passion for hand-crafted design.

Lambert & Fils investigates the many shapes of light, playing with volumes and highlighting the importance of materials. Every design and product by Lambert & Fils is handmade by skilled craftspeople at their workspace in the heart of Montreal. This brand describes itself as being in a constant state of experimentation as it forms and creates objects and ideas by hand. They see working by hand as a way to empower their studio to push boundaries. It allows them to test new materials, prototype in-house, and create the technologies and manufacturing approaches needed to create their high-quality luminaires. By workshopping and prototyping, Lambert & Fils can bring ideas to life as they create new technological advances, such as their sustainable LED lights.

The Montreal-based lighting brand not only believes in stunning design but also believes in creating the perfect ambience. Their specially made LED technology harnesses the "power and intimacy of incandescent lighting", therefore valuing not only the design but the light itself. Samuel Lambert continues to lead the studio as Artistic Director. His humility, fascination with materials and commitment to the handmade remain at the heart of Lambert & Fils.
