Paul Cocksedge studied at the Royal College of Art, where he was taught by industrial designer Ron Arad. After graduating in 2002, Cocksedge was nominated for Designer of the Year by London's Design Museum. In 2004, he and Joana Pinho founded Paul Cocksedge Studio, where he has built a reputation for innovative design. His studio specialises in lighting and furniture design, architectural projects, installations and sculptures.
Since the inception of his studio, Paul Cocksedge has worked with notable international brands such as Moooi, Swarovski, and BMW. His work has been included in numerous exhibitions, including Wonder, for Wonderglass, Milan Design Week, and Timeloop, for Sino Group, Hong Kong. He has also been named the winner of Wallpaper's “Best Last Word” award. In 2020, Cocksedge unveiled plans to build a cross-laminated timber bridge across the Liesbeek River in Cape Town.
