Patrick Norguet is a French designer, born in Tours, France, in 1969. Since childhood, he had a passion for art, filling books with sketches and designs. In 2000, Norguet created the Rainbow Chair, a brightly coloured chair constructed from forty-four brightly coloured acrylic strips. When Italian designer Guilio Cappellini spotted the Rainbow Chair, he decided to include it in his collection. This collaboration marked a turning point in Patrick Norguet’s career as a designer. Since founding his firm, Norguet has worked with international brands such as Lodes, Artemide, and Peugeot.
Patrick Norguet draws inspiration from the world around him for designs, avoiding trends to create pieces that will withstand the test of time. Throughout his career, Patrick Norguet has been awarded many notable accolades, including NOW Designer of the Year, Maison & Objet Paris 2005, International Design Awards, Elle Deco, 2005, and GQ Men of the Year, Designer of the Year 2014.
“My job is to find the equation that gives an object an anchor in a culture, an anchor in time. I think good design is honest, discreet, and above all, durable. Hence the notion of timelessness.” - Patrick Norguet
