Muller Van Severen

Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen founded Muller Van Severen in 2011. The studio specialises in homeware, lighting, and furniture, focusing on bold and impactful designs. On an inspired quest to create sculpturally interesting designs, the works of Muller Van Severen often sit between design and art. This approach has resulted in notable collaborations with museums and galleries around the world, including the Vitra Museum, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Galerie Kreo, and Valerie Traan Gallery.

For HAY, Muller Van Severen created the Arcs Collection, a series of lights characterised by their scalloped shades. The Arc’s bright colour palette and sculptural form are indicative of the studio’s aim to evoke miniature architecture through their work. Muller Van Severen has won several awards for their pieces, including Design Studio of the Year 2022 (Dezeen Awards) and Designers of the Year 2023 (Maison&Objet).
