Michele De Lucchi & Gerhard Reichert bring together architecture, product design, and technical development through a working relationship shaped in Milan between 1997 and 2004. During that period, Reichert worked with De Lucchi on the design and development of products for Artemide, Molteni, Dada, Mauser office, and Armani.
Michele De Lucchi is an architect, designer, and artist, and was one of the key players in Alchimia and Memphis, later becoming head of Olivetti Design from 1988 to 2002. Gerhard Reichert studied Mechanical Engineering at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, later founded Reichert Design, and has been Professor of Product Design at the University of Design Schwäbisch Gmünd since 2007.
Michele De Lucchi & Gerhard Reichert reflect two complementary backgrounds, one rooted in architecture and artistic research, the other in product development and engineering, which gives their work a clear balance of form, structure, and use. Their collaboration sits naturally within contemporary residential interiors that suit sculptural lighting and considered design objects.
