Mattias Ståhlbom
Mattias Ståhlbom is an architect and designer born in Sweden in 1971, he studied at Konstfack University of Arts, graduating from the Department of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design. Ståhlbom aims to make everyday life more fun through his work, creating unique products using simple designs and materials. In 2002 he co-founded TAF Studio, a Stockholm-based design and architecture practice, alongside Gabriella Lenke.

Mattias Ståhlbom’s products have been exhibited at a number of prestigious venues such as the MOMA in New York and the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm. He has worked with some renowned global brands such as Muuto and Zero. He has also received numerous awards, including the “Young Design” award.

"I believe that it’s equivalent to fun, good social values and an uncomplicated straightforwardness— accomplishing a lot with simple methods. Scandinavian design is in one way very international, however upon taking a closer look, I guess the heritage has a great influence too. We tend to think very pragmatic and simplistic while putting a lot of work into the aspect of durability. This could be misunderstood as boring, but it isn’t." - Mattias Ståhlbom
