Marzio Rusconi Clerici

Italian designer Marzio Rusconi Clerici was born in Milan in 1960. In 1979, he moved to Paris to study at the graphic design school “Atelier Albers.” He then went on to study architectural design in the Faculty of Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic before moving to London for two years. Here, he collaborated with Laura Agnolotto to design radio and television objects. The pair returned to Milan in 1987, where they participated in numerous exhibitions.

Marzio Rusconi Clerici specialises in lighting and furniture design, creating products for numerous renowned brands including Nemo, FontanaArte, Zeus, Status, Slide, Swatch, Martini, and KDLN. For KDLN, he created the Shakti Floor Lamp, which was selected for the Compasso d’Oro. The elegant lamp produces functional and ambient lighting to suit a range of settings while adding a touch of sophistication to interiors.

In addition to lighting and furniture design, Clerici has worked on architectural projects, collaborating with architect Alessandro Traldi to design a new building for research laboratories at Policlinico di Milano. Today, he continues to work from Milan, where he creates new designs and exhibitions that balance art and design.
