Mario Alessiani

Mario Alessiani is an Italian designer, known for his commitment to “functional beauty”. With both parents working as architects, he imagined that he would follow in his parents’ footsteps in a career as an architect. During his education, his art teacher suggested he try design. After visiting a selection of art academies, Alessiani decided to pursue a career in design. During his second year at the European Institute of Design, he founded his solo studio.

Mario Alessiani believes in merging form and function in his work, aiming to portray the design process, interaction, and emotion through the simplest shape possible. His Float Collection beautifully captures this approach to design. Inspired by the strong and poetic lighting found in intimate restaurants and wineries, the collection exudes functional beauty. Alessiani’s innovative designs have helped him gain notoriety worldwide. He has been named among the best under 30 Italian creatives by Virginio Briatore and Design People at Triennale Milano.
