Marcel Wanders

Marcel Wanders founded his visionary design studio in Amsterdam, where they create iconic designs, classic products, and contemporary collections. Wanders made his name in his collaboration with Casper Vissers in 2001 when they came together to form Moooi, a lighting design brand that aims to 'inspire and seduce the world with breathtaking, innovative designs'.

Moooi is now a well-known and well-loved designer brand that describes its products as 'original, unexpected, eclectic, rebellious and sophisticated'. Marcel Wanders' original and individualistic personality is fed into the brand and brings to the brand and is noted as the driving force behind their popular lighting applications.

Marcel Wanders' most recognisable designs would be the Pet Light Collection or, more recently, the Hubble Bubble Suspension Light. These new designs feature a new and exciting lighting technique that was created by the Marcel Wanders Studio. This technique, called Electrosandwich®, allows LED lights to be used with minimal wiring. This method allows for many LED lights to be lit simultaneously and allows for the LED lights to be as thin as possible to add to the elegance of the designs and create a clean silhouette that adds an elegant touch to interiors.
